User's Guide:
Using Internet Explorer to upload files to computech's Servers

The following steps outline how to Upload your site to our servers.

Step 1:

Start Internet Explorer by clicking the START button, and selecting "Internet Explorer" from the Programs menu, Or by clicking the desktop icon: Internet Explorer Logo

 
Step 2:

In the "Address" bar, type "ftp://" followed by the name of your domain (eg "ftp://your-domain.com.au") then press the Enter Key

Step 3:

The "Log On As" Dialogue box will appear, type your User name (eg "your-domain.com.au") and Password, then Click "Log On".

It is recommended that the "Save password" box remains unticked, this will prevent other users of your computer access to your files

Step 4:

The Root Folder of your User Directory will be displayed. Double Click . to enter your Site Directory.

Step 5:

The contents of your . folder will be displayed. This is where you place your web pages and files which are to be viewable from the World Wide Web. If this is the first time you have logged in this folder will be empty.

By double clicking on the "My Computer" icon on the desk top, Navigate to the folder on your computer containing your web site files. Select the files and/or folders you wish to upload, then Copy, and Paste them into the . Folder

Note: If this isnt the first time you have uploaded files, and you wish to update the contents of your web-files folder perform the same steps outlined above, and click "Yes to All" when prompted by the Confirm File Replace Dialogue Box.

 
 

You have successfully Uploaded Your Web Site Files. Simply close the Internet Explorer window to log out..
